MEMPHIS, TN – Producer, musician and songwriter Valiant Bates Orr is bringing a fresh sound to faith-based music with his new single, “Running to Grace,” featuring award-winning Gospel singer MarQuez Curtis.
Written and produced by Orr, the record blends their Gospel roots with a more Contemporary Christian (CCM) sound, giving listeners a different side of both artists.
The collaboration comes naturally. Orr is the son of Pastor Bartholomew Orr, senior pastor of Brown Missionary Baptist Church in Southaven, Mississippi, and the younger brother of award-winning producer and musician Bart Orr II. Curtis, who also comes from a Baptist background, serves as one of Brown’s worship leaders.
With “Running to Grace,” Orr and Curtis step outside the traditional Gospel box, tapping into a new wave of Christian music while staying connected to the faith and musical foundation that shaped them.
The single arrives as both artists enter their next chapters, with new album projects currently in the works. For Orr and Curtis, “Running to Grace” offers the first taste of what’s ahead – a fresh sound, a broader reach and a new season of music.
