After stepping away during a critical stage of growth, YaT0 returns with a project years in the making.

Most artists spend years trying to become visible. YaT0 did the opposite.

After generating early momentum through releases including Piacere Nessuno, Ascoltami, and Maktub featuring Joow, the Italian-Moroccan artist largely disappeared from public view. New releases became infrequent, public activity slowed, and the project entered a prolonged period of uncertainty.

For audiences following the early phase, the shift was difficult to interpret. At the point where many emerging artists would accelerate output and capitalize on momentum, YaT0 appeared to move in the opposite direction.

The project itself had been built differently from the start.

Before fully entering music, YaT0 opened his first retail store at nineteen and spent years working across fashion, brand development, and creative direction. That foundation shaped the way the project evolved, combining music, visual identity, and artistic development into a single creative framework rather than treating each release as an isolated event.

The slowdown was not the result of a creative decision alone. A combination of personal disruption and complications surrounding music distribution interrupted what had been a steady upward trajectory during a critical stage of development.

What followed was not the abandonment of the project, but a period of reassessment.

While visibility decreased, the underlying direction became more focused. Rather than extending the first chapter, attention shifted toward building a larger body of work with greater emphasis on long-term vision, authorship, and creative independence.

The result is ALTER-EGO, an upcoming project currently in development through international collaboration and a renewed commitment to artistic control. By all indications, it is less concerned with continuing the original chapter than redefining it entirely.

The next phase increasingly centers on New York, where the project is developing within a broader creative environment and a more international context than its earlier releases. As the scope expands, so too does the ambition behind it.

Whether ALTER-EGO will ultimately be viewed as a comeback or a reinvention remains to be seen. What is clear is that YaT0’s trajectory has unfolded outside the usual industry script. The next chapter will determine whether the silence was an interruption—or part of the story all along.
